Top 10 reasons why parents are the best tutors for their children

You might have heard a lot of times that parents are the first teachers of their children. It’s definitely true, as the first thing a child ever does is to copy his or her parent’s gestures, their habits and the way they behave. So as a mother or father it becomes very important for us to behave according to in front of the child. If something happens the child’s first reaction is to look for his or her parents, this shows how deeply the two parties are connected with each other. At the same time, Indian parents have to develop a level of understanding; they need to maintain a balance between them and their child.

So, here are some reasons why parents are the best tutors for their children:

  1. Understanding:

Parents understand their children better than anyone else. When you hire a tutor, he or she takes time to settle along with your child. It happens because the teacher needs to know the thinking process of the child, how well he or she interprets the things, how fast they grasp a concept etc.  On the other hand, if you see that parents especially Indian moms are already well about these things, so the study routine can directly start from the next level.

  1. How are they as learners?

As Indian parents teach their child by themselves in their infant years and they are the one who has put a hand in developing their learning process, so they already know that at what pace their child learns or understands. They can easily comprehend that whether they should move fast or at what time they should slow down their pace.

You need to understand that the tutor would not take care of the pace of the student, particularly if they are studying in a group, therefore here the parents have an upper hand.

  1. Reluctant:

A tutor is a total stranger to the child, and therefore at the initial stages, the child might be reluctant to share any kind of academic problems he or she is facing. This will largely result in a loss in their studies and burdens them as well you.

The children are very open to their parents.  Young children often prefer parent talks, so they will be more comfortable with their parents to share any problems they are facing academically.

  1. Surveillance:

When you teach your child regularly you know that what all things is he or she engaged in, are they doing their work on time or not, etc. You can make sure that his or her interest does not divert from studies. While a tutor just does the work he thinks is important for exam purposes, he or she would not check regular copies of the child; they are merely concerned with completing their syllabus as soon as possible.

  1. Communication and third person:

The most important problem that arises with a tutor is that you are not in direct contact with your child about his or her studies; you know what the tutor tells you. In such a case when Indian parents visit their child’s school, it’s likely that they won’t communicate the whole thing to the teacher well.  Even they will accept what the teacher says about the child rather than questioning back.

Also, the tutor here being the third person, will not be in direct contact with the school teacher so will not be able to analyse the student’s progress well.

  1. Random communications:

There is a high possibility that your tutor might not be a very professional person and engage the child in other random talks rather than teaching, which is definitely a loss of study. In such a case Indian moms are the best tutors because they know how to get a grasp over the child and stick they minds to study, so that child does not thick about random things that do not concern his or her study.

  1. Recreation activities:

If your child is attending the tuition classes for a long period of time then it is very likely that the tutor would not give them the break they require, or do not understand their need for particular recreation activity and soon the child might be interested in studying anymore. Indian parents are well aware that what are the sitting hours of their child, what time they would require a recreational activity so that they can gain back their interest for study?

  1. Overburden:

There is a great possibility that your child might also feel overburdened because of the tuition classes, as they have to manage both school and tuition. On the other hand, when a child studies from their parents, it feels very homely and even they have parent talks in between which is refreshing for the child and he or she would not take their studies as a burden.

  1. Workload and homework:

Your child gets homework from school which is a necessity and they should do it. No doubt, the problem is with the homework that the student gets from tuition as well and he has three times more work. Even there is no time left for other activities that are equally important. When a child studies from their mom or dad they do not get homework and they can relax for some time before going back to their routine. The overall development is also necessary with studies and Indian moms are really good at that so they make sure that their child has enough time to relax and have proper food.

  1. Base development:

Like I said earlier then tuition teacher would focus on syllabus completion rather than base development but the Indian parents under how important it is to clear the study base of their child, so they focus more on it and thus it’s a plus point.

Not only would this, but the time you spend teaching your child also make your bond stronger.
