Kids Special: Recipes of Energy drinks to beat the heat

Summers are at its peak and our kids don’t like to eat anything in this hot weather. But one thing the children cannot deny is the chilled glass of tasty and healthy beverages. The drinks will help your children to be hydrated because this is a very big problem that small kids gets dehydrated very easily in summers so, to solve your problems we are here with some of the healthy and tasty summer drinks that will give your baby the energy as well as the yummy feelings. Here are some recipes for mouthwatering healthy Drinks-

1. Lassi

The lassi is made up of curd and is very good for health in summer. If in summers your baby is having a cold & Cough then do ignore the Lassi because it will cause harm during cold. Have a look at the recipe of this cool drink.

Ingredients

 Curd – ½ cup

 Water – ¾ cup

 Sugar – according to taste

How to make

Blend the ingredients together using a blender. Add salt to taste if you want. Give a full glass to your kids to enjoy the summer.

2. Sugarcane Juice

This is very good and its nature is to cool the tummy. During Jaundice doctors advice Sugarcane Juice.

Ingredients

Sugarcane pieces – 2

 Ginger – a small piece

Lemon – 1

 Water – 1 cup

How to make

Peel the outer layer of the sugar cane. Cut it into small pieces and put in the blender with water and ginger. Blend and extract the juice. Add sugar if required and a dash of lemon juice.

3. Sweet lime lassi

This is just like normal lassi but sweet lime has been added to it. It is a good source of Vitamin C which helps in digestion, ulcers, respiratory problems, immune system and keeps urinary infections away.

Ingredients

 Curd – ½ cup

 Water – ¾ cup

 Sweet lime – 1 no

 Sugar/honey – to taste

How to make

Extract the juice of the sweet lime and leave it in the fridge to cool. After it is cool, blend all the ingredients together using a blender. It is advised you to consume it immediately because the heat can cause it to go bad.

4. Mint Lemonade

This is one of the cheapest and easily available drink at home. You can make it very easily. 

Ingredients

Lemon – 1/2 no

Water – ¾ cup

Sugar/honey – to taste

Mint leaves – a few

How to make

Crush the mint leaves and add them with lemon and water and mix it properly by using the mixer. Add honey or sugar for taste. You may also add a dash of black salt or rock salt if your child loves its taste.

5. Pomegranate juice

The Pomegranate juice fights inflammation, lower blood pressure, heart diseases, joint pain, arthritis and bacterial infections. 

Ingredients

Pomegranate arils – 2 cups

Water – 1/2 cup

Sugar/ honey – to taste

Mint leaves – a few

How to make

Put 2 cups of pomegranate arils in the blender. Add the mint leaves too. Blend and extract the juice. To remove the seeds and pulp from the juice you can use a strainer. Use the water and mix the extract and pass it through the strainer again. Add honey or sugar for taste and mix well.

6. Banana Shake

The banana shake is rich in calcium and it is also beneficial for the kids who are not gaining their weight. 

Ingredients

Banana – 1/2 no

Milk –  1/2 cups

Sugar-to taste

How to make

Blend all the ingredients together. You can increase the quantity of milk to achieve the desired consistency.

7. Coconut water

This does not need any recipe to make. Just go to the market and buy it. Enjoy the taste of water with a straw. The coconut water contains dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals. It also contains electrolytes which are good for kids to make their body energized during the summer time. The coconut water is good for the pregnant ladies also. It starts its benefits when the baby is in the womb.

8. Chilled pink milk

This is one of my favourite drink and I really love its taste. This is also the lovable drink of the kids. It helps the kids to be cool and healthy. 

Ingredients

Milk- 1 glass

Rose sharbat- 4 teaspoon

Ice- If needed.

How to make 

Mix the rose sharbat in cold milk and blend it. Add ice if you want the chilled glass.B ut for kids’ the cold milk without ice is good.

9. Watermelon Juice

The best thing to have in summer is watermelon. It contains anti-oxidants, vitamins and a good source to hydrate the body. You can also add some oranges and cucumber in it to make it tastier. 

Ingredients

 Cucumber – 1

 Orange – 2

 Watermelon. 1/2

 Water – as required

 Sugar/honey – to taste

How to make

Cut all the three fruits in small pieces and remove the seeds. Mix it in a mixer properly and strain it by adding some water. Add sugar or honey whichever you like according to your taste. If you like then add the rock salt too. Make it chill and enjoy the drink with kids.

10. Blackberry Lemonade

The lemonade recipe you know and it’s too tasty also. This time try the blackberry lemonade to make your kids happy with a new taste.

Ingredients

1/4cup bourbon, 

1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice, 

2 teaspoons Blackberry-Rosemary Syrup

1/3 cup sparkling lemonade

Chilled and Fresh blackberries 

How to make

In a cocktail shaker combine bourbon, lemon juice, Blackberry-Rosemary Syrup, and ice; shake until chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Top with sparkling lemonade. Garnish with 2 or 3 blackberries, if desired.
