With help of nail clippers, remove the excess length of the nails. After this, the nails use a nail file, giving them a shape. You can shape the nails to your liking. The squoval shape nails are short and square with smooth edges. You can also give a squared-off shape to your nails.
The next is to soak your hands, which is optional. However, it is better to include this step for a full-fledged manicure. Keep your hands in warm water for 5 minutes. To see some bubbles and smell an aroma, you can add a small amount of scented liquid soap to the water. This step softens your cuticles and they are now ready to undergo the next treatment.
Pushing back your cuticles also is an optional step. However, you cannot bypass this step if you have strong and thick cuticles. Cuticle is nothing but a small piece of dead skin that has developed at the bottom of your nail bed. This can interfere with your nail polishing. Therefore, pushing them back is necessary. It will also boost the look of the nail surface. You can use a cuticle stick for this procedure. Cutting the cuticles as done in salons, is not advisable. This may lead to infection too.
