Ayurveda approach to Losing Weight

Ayurveda is an ancient and holistic healthcare system that focuses on the natural healing of the human body. Ayurvedic medicines are made of natural herbs and minerals that cause no side effects and therefore are safe to use.

Ayurveda looks at excess weight as the problem of eating foods that your body does not accept. According to Ayurvedic thought, obesity is a result of the vitiated Vata and Kapha doshas of the body. Therefore it is better to make your food choices according to your body type. Ayurveda has three main types of body namely Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Reducing Kapha in the body is helpful in losing weight. Obesity can be cured by herbal medicines as well as diet changes and regular practice of yoga and breathing exercises known as Pranayama.
